KOTA The Friend Portland Concert reviews
Bill Good, Hall not so!
"We attended KOTA The Friend's show at the Paragon Casino in Marksville. KOTA The Friend walked out at the Mari Center in Paragon Casino with little fanfare and delivered a good, well-paced show with some really good laughs and jokes. As expected, KOTA The Friend managed to not offend even one ethnic or religious group and delivered his dialogue with no profanity. BUT...
The Mari Center was a bit of a letdown. Our first problem was that there were people already in our seats, and rather than asking them to move, the man helping us asked if we would rather sit closer. Well, of course! When we arrived, it was well organized, and we got into the venue with a minimum of lines and waiting. There was staff offering to help everyone find their seats. Then too, I had trouble making out some of KOTA The Friend's words because the sound really could have been louder. BUT, we then found ourselves sitting in someone else's seats and had to move over. The Mari Center floor is not a good place for seating with the stage used...it was rather hard to see KOTA The Friend, and the projections of the performance to the left and right of the stage were out of sync with the audio. Lastly...the seats were uncomfortable.
All in all, the Mari didn't, KOTA The Friend delivered."
